 AI Use Statement in My Classroom

Policy and Guidelines 
    Policies- 
            No using AI to cheat (consumes of looking up answers for tests, quizzes, and homework.) 
            Allowed to use when creating projects (images with their own prompts) 
    Guidelines- 
            Allowed to use it with group projects, trusting that you will use it responsibly
            Beginning of the year, as a class we will go over expectations with AI and learn when and how to                use it properly in my classroom 

My View
    I think AI is going to become extremely popular in the future in the classroom. I think learning how to properly use AI will be important. But we also need to still know how to do the basic things just in case internet breaks down or there is no wifi for the day. Having fundamental skills of things we need to do in the classroom without AI is important so that we can still get our work done. In some cases, I think it could be important to use AI because eventually it will become an everyday thing, but we should not depend on AI. At the end of the day, AI will become apart of our everyday lives and be used all of the time. Learning how to use it and also not depend on it is/will become an important thing that I think eventually everyone will have to adapt to it whether they like AI or not.

  Digital Citizenship 2.0 — My Professional Responsibility            I feel like the digital footprint is most fragile in todays digital environment. I think this because you are connected to so many things on the online world. What you posted 5 or 6 years ago could be on online forever. Employers can easily look you up and see what your footprint may look like online and that could make or break your own employment.  Where I see the greatest risk would be the trying to connect outside of school.
